The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor and gaiety at the District Sports Stadium, Kathua. The grand समारोह was graced by the Chief Guest, Sh. Satish Sharma, Hon’ble MLA J&K (Ministry of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & IT, Youth Services & Sports), who unfurled the Tricolour, took the salute at the march past, and inspected the parade.
The March Past Contingent was led by DySP Ops Kathua Ms. Pushpa Rajput (JKPS) along with Second Parade Commander PSI Muzahair Ali Zaffri, comprising contingents from District Police Line Kathua, IRP 19th Battalion, PTS Kathua, CRPF, Home Guards, NCC, and various educational institutions, including Springdales Higher Secondary School.
The event was further graced by DDC Chairman Kathua Retd. Col. Mahan Singh, Sh. Bharat Bhushan (MLA J&K), Deputy Commissioner Kathua Sh. Rajesh Sharma (JKAS), along with senior police and civil officers. Colourful cultural programmes added vibrancy to the celebration, and prizes were awarded by the Hon’ble Chief Guest.
